What Appify is
Appify (appify.school) is a set of classroom tools for teachers in the Franklin Public School District. Teachers sign in with their district Google account and import their Google Classroom rosters so the tools can use them.
Information we access from Google
With your permission, Appify accesses:
- Your basic Google profile (name, email address, profile photo) to sign you in.
- Your Google Classroom course list, so you can choose classes to import.
- Class rosters — student names, email addresses, and profile photos — for the classes you choose to import.
- Linked guardian names and email addresses for your students, where the district has enabled Google Classroom guardian features.
How we use and store it
- Roster data you import is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) and is visible only to the teacher who imported it, enforced by server-side security rules.
- Data is used solely to provide the classroom tools you see in the app.
- We do not sell data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising.
- Basic usage analytics (pages visited, signed-in teacher account) help us improve the app. Student and guardian data is never sent to analytics.
Appify's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deleting your data
- Removing a class in Appify permanently deletes its imported roster.
- You can revoke Appify's access to your Google account anytime at myaccount.google.com/connections.
- To have all of your data deleted, email hustdave@gmail.com.
